Serve the City Ireland CLG (STC) has been a completely volunteer-led charitable organisation since 2006, mobilising volunteers across Ireland, helping marginalised and vulnerable persons in the community. Our impact is about addressing poverty in its various forms and social exclusion, for both the persons receiving services AND for the volunteers engaged. Most volunteers tend not to think of themselves as “in poverty or socially excluded” however, when they reflect on their volunteering with STC they often say something like “I got more out of that that the person we were helping” or “my life is enriched through volunteering…”, so clearing something has/is changing within the volunteer too.

Through our volunteers, mobilised on either our Cairdeas Programme (aimed at Refugees Asylum Seekers and Migrants) or our Community Programme including befriending and DIY projects aimed at the elderly; chronically ill; or one-parent families, we aim to SERVE; CARE & TRANSFORM people’s lives living in the community. Since 2021, STC has had a very small core staff team supporting our activities nationwide however, we are still committed to being 100% volunteer-led across all our front-line activities. Our staff empower and enhance our front-line activities nationwide.

A recent survey from Q4 2021 of our Community Programme’s DIY activities, clearly showed that doing good – leads to feeling good! Volunteers experienced a heightened sense of wellbeing both on the day(s) they volunteered as well as for some time afterwards. STC has many repeat volunteers as well as new/first-time ever volunteers so we consider it an honour and privilege to be a part of mobilising volunteers across Ireland. We’ve both unskilled volunteering roles as well as selected skilled volunteering roles that require Garda vetting so whatever kind of volunteering you’re looking for please email us volunteer@servethecity.ie Please tell us a little about your volunteering preferences and what region you’d like to volunteer in: Dublin; Galway; Limerick; Cork or Waterford. Looking forward to seeing you volunteer with STC very soon.
