Managing Risk – Threats and Opportunities
Serve the City Ireland recognises that certain situations may arise that can expose people or the organisation to danger. The Risk Management Policy is designed to have a positive approach to identifying and reducing potential risks as part of the usual management of the organisation.
Examples of type of risks would include:
- Financial (Fundraising may fail to raise enough funds to cover expenses)
- Human (Departure of key personnel)
- Operational (Theft of funds or equipment)
- Technological (Such as the computers dying without sufficient backup, or a data leak)
- Physical (injuries to Volunteers)
- Reputational (Complaints from Clients /Volunteers or negative media exposure of bad practice)
- Governance and management (Such as a lack of planning to guide the organisation’s work)
- Legal (claims and litigation against STC Ireland)
